OUR STORY

Welcome. Sheryl Pickens and Brenda Ridnour, lifelong colleagues and best friends, launched their firm in 2013, quickly gaining recognition as the "Best Boutique Commercial Real Estate Firm in Dallas, Texas." After years of success, they took a two-year sabbatical to serve as Regional EVPs for Truss Holdings, Inc., a CRE startup specializing in small business real estate solutions through a cutting-edge technology database onboarding system. When Truss was acquired by a national CRE firm in Chicago and its Texas office closed, Sheryl and Brenda seized the opportunity to apply the technology-driven insights they had gained to elevate their own brokerage firm. This transformation began with rebranding from PickensRidnour to Real Estate Uprising. By the grace of God, their innovative approach—leveraging online lead sources—proved to be a game-changer, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. They successfully facilitated CRE transactions remotely through platforms like Zoom, Matterport virtual tours, FaceTime, space planning and design software. This strategic shift allowed them to expand their expertise beyond the DFW Metroplex into the entire state of Texas, with a primary focus on Dallas, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio. Additionally, Pickens' daughter, Merrick Porchéddu, joined as a third-party partner to enhance clients' design needs. Artist Uprising provides interior design services, integrating art, graphics, and wayfinding solutions tailored to each client. Both companies, Real Estate Uprising and Artist Uprising, have become invaluable sources of leads and support for one another.
